Shedding Tools

I have a new puppy, a stray that showed up 2 months ago and could not locate her owner. I've had her spade and installed invisible fencing. She's a small terrier mix and sheds a lot. I there anything I can do to keep her from shedding?

dog de matting tool

My groomer had a "twisty-toothed" comb she thought might be used for cats, but that works through matted hair on dogs beautifully. She no longer has one, and she cannot find them anywhere. I am searching the internet but haven't found anything that fits the description. Do you know of a tool like this? Thanks
