Escape proof Harness

My Aussie can escape any collar or harness we've tried. Do you know of any that are escape proof? Thank you!

I like the choke-free shoulder harness. Sadly these are difficult to find now but I love that there is nothing around my dog's neck. The dog just steps into the harness and it connects with velcro.

My Staffordshire Terrier mix used to wriggle out of the Halti harness, but she's yet to escape the Gentle Leader after two years's of walks with all kinds of distractions and stimulations. Used to take her to the river and she couldn't get away from me. If you haven't already, try the Gentle Leader head collar.

Answer:

Try searching for a 'martingale-style' or 'anti-slip' collar. They appear similar to a choke collar but are collars that have an additional loop of nylon or chain where the leash attaches to the collar. When held up by the ring (where you clip the leash on) it resembles a number 8. These types of collars tighten just enough so that the head connot slip out if the dog tries "backing out" of the collar, but does not "choke" the dog. Good luck.

I have a pekingese have had him 11 years he is very sweet, but when I get him groomed they use a cat muzzle when she cuts his feet it works real well I know I stay there all the time. I hope this helps you

I had a Pekingese for 15 years and he wasn't the as friendly as he looked! I tried lots of different muzzles and he got out of all of them. If its just for a short vet appointment my vet would just tie a ribbon type string over his nose and under his chin. It worked for him because his nose wasn't a completely flat nose. Hope this helps!

We use the gentle leader. I've used it on a standard poodle & now a mini goldendoodle. It works with no effort and the pup just knows that this is what we do. Immediate results.

Thank you for your question. For a pet that is difficult to walk due to pulling or lunging, we would recommend the Gentle Leader Headcollar to help train your pet to behave better on a leash. Please see the link for this product below:

If you only wanted a collar, any of our collars would work about the same and we would only recommend that you get one that fits correctly. In order to select the correct size collar for your pet, we would recommend you measure around your pet's neck and then add 2 inches to find the correct size.

Nearly 5 years ago I adopted a 10 year old, 108 lb. Alaskan Malamute who had had no training. I tried everything to walk him and he still pulled and lunged after things like squirrels and bunnies. I finally went with a Gentle Leader harness and Bingo (!!!!), success! He made his first mad dash out the garage door and I held on and pulled back. He stopped dead, and looked at me as if to say, "Oh....this is what you want? Why didn't you say so?". We have had many pleasant walks since. Make sure it fits correctly and it may help your problem.

It's not stylish but a cheap & easy way to prevent the jingling from multiple tags (license, rabies, ID tags). I bind them together with a thick rubber band, coated wire or pipe cleaner.

Have you tried using the rubber identification rings made for keys that you can get at the hardware store?? I would think the size would be just about right. Look for them wherever you get keys made.... good luck!
