I know the "marty" sweater has an opening for a leash- they say whether they do or not in the descriptions :)

We bought and returned this coat. I was surprised by the lack of lining. It doesn't feel any warmer than any of the other coats we've bought at Dr. Foster. We were hoping for something that was really warm for the winter, and perhaps this would be marginally warmer, but that's due to the bulky waist band than to the coat itself.

A warm dog coat.

I am looking for a warm coat for Minnesota winters . It should be able to cover the chest and belly, and not just the back. Our dog is a senior 63 pound labrador. I can't tell from the pictures which coats are especially warm for winter.

My dog is a chocolate lab weighing 66 lbs. I have the Manchester fleece jacket which is perfect for Wisconsin & my dog loves it. I don't think she even realizes that she's wearing a jacket. She wears the XL which is perfect.

HOW TO MEASURE FOR PET CLOTHING:
1. Measure your pet from the base of his neck to the base of his tail as shown in the illustration.
2. Always round up to the next larger size if the measurement is near or over the range maximum in the smaller size. This is particularly true for coats and jackets since there is no stretch in those materials.
3. Also round up to the next larger size if your pet has a thick coat, broader chest, or wider underside.

Depending on the size of the Dane the XXL usually fit, but you should take good measurments around the chest area to make sure that the sweater will not be too tight. If the sweater doesn't fit, Fosters & Smith are great about taking the merchandise back and giving a speedy refund.
