I have several rescue dogs, both black, both medium length hair. The hair is all over the house, requiring I vacuum the floors every day, or the dust bunnies multiply during the night. Now for your question, my answer based upon experience. I just remove the hose accessories from the sweeper hose, and proceed to vacuum them. They love the rush of air thorough their fur. Ho Boy, it's play time! I get plenty of loose hair off them, not nearly enough as I would like. Sometimes I will use the vacuum and a hair brush, and will get even more off. I guess I need to shave them down to the skin if I wish to clean them up really well.
So, I just mainly vacuum the floor daily, vacuum the dogs, when I can catch them, and cuss a lot at two hairy dogs.
I love them all, so I just live with more hair than most people could. I hope this helps you. You really don't need to buy anything, just use what you have on hand. Oh, one other thing, unless you have a lap dog, do not bath them more than several times during the year. They really shed after a bath.
