For others & Karend who read this.I have owned my system for many years. And out of them years i had found out that cleaning this unit out once every 2 weeks.I know thats alot to do,but its the only route i have taken to make it flow like new & last. I had used a cleaner that takes care of the lime & tough areas with a brush & CLR.Now i take the CLR & pour it in a sprayer if you have one.Take the unit apart & if possible keep all the small parts in a cup or container of sort so you can spray the small parts while shaking the container then set aside so they soak a bit. Then spray the bigger parts & right away scrub them up.The best brush i found to get all these little nooks, holes & hard to get areas is a tooth brush used for of course Dogs! It has 2 sides of brush sizes. It works great. Now as a reminder - Yes! you do or can scrub out your motor. As a matter of fact, its your #1 reason why it slows the flow down. With care, pull the fins & magnet out of motor. If you break a fin its useless.and finding one to replace it is like the needle in hay stack.I'm still trying to find one.But you need to clean out the motor area with care. And now rinse, rinse & rinse. It should run like new.
