I need a cat carrier for 2 large cats to share, preferably a backpack type.

My two cats are large, one is 15lbs and the other is 18lbs (on his way to lower weight). I was hoping to find a carrier that could accommodate 35lbs total so I could put both cats in it. I have separate carriers for each of them already and am primarily interested in an easy-to-use carrier for emergency situations of the natural disaster kind. So, for example, in the event of a tornado, I'd like to coral my cats quickly into one unit so I could keep them in the tub or run downstairs to the lower level with them. I know the iGo2 carriers aren't really meant for 35lbs but in a one-time situation would they work?

Thank you for your question. Although none of our products are made for two cats the size of yours, and therefore can't really suggest any of them for long periods of time, I believe the best carrier for use in an emergency situation would be the Dura-Ruff Folding Pet Crate. It will offer your cats more room than the IGo2 carrier, and although it isn't a backpack, it will probably be the most comfortable for you to carry. It has carry handles for ease of travel.
