Marshall Penthouse II Ferret Cage 31" x 19" x 54"
Over-priced Piece of Garbage
I have two chinchillas that have lived in a Marshall cage for the past several years. It got to the point that the wire was beginning to rust and break so I knew I had to replace it. I decided to go with Marshall again since the old cage had lasted so long. But the new cage is nothing but disappointing. Firstly, the assembly is a nightmare. My husband had to cut into the plastic corner pieces that hold the levels together in order to get them to fit the wire. But aside from that annoyance, the quality of the cage itself is a disgrace to the older model. The old cage was all metal, aside form the base and shelves (which were made of a very rigid plastic). The new cage is made out of a soft, cheap plastic. In under a month of use, one of my chinchillas has managed to chew off one of the cage clips that holds the top onto the base and is working on chewing off the door clips, which of course hold the doors closed. Soon she will be able to escape and I will be out $200. When I contacted Marshall they offered to replace the plastic pieces that my chinchilla damaged. When I explained that she would just chew them again, they had no other solutions. It would be nice if the company actually stood behind their product.
