I have a co2 tank set up which uses a needle valve to control airflow. Ceramic diffusers tend to clog and are impossible to clean from edge to edge without destroying the cement around the edge. I'm hoping this one will be easy to clean since the ceramic disc is removable. I was a little concerned when it was first fired up, as large bubbles were escaping around the gasket. In a few days the gasket seated and a light stream of tiny bubbles continued. I like this design but time will tell.

Saw some bad reviews but the price was right so I gave it a try. Works incredibly well. Had it running for some time now, no problems. Best diffuser I have used.

The diffuser was easy to install and was working fine for two days. Then the bubbles started to come out through the threads instead of the top. I tried cleaning the top but that didn't help.
I am using this diffuser as both a diffuser and bubble counter.

I bought this co2 diffuser about a month ago and hooked it up to a DIY yeast reactor. Worked fine at first, the bubbles would flow up and then get dispersed into very tiny bubbles. After about 3 weeks it stopped releasing bubbles, I thought my DIY system wasnt working but when I unplugged the airline tube from the diffuser, there was a huge amount of pressure that had been building and a bunch of co2 was released. I looked closely at the diffuser and the ceramic top, which is held down by a plastic screw on ring, had a little bit of algae on it. I tried scrubbing some off and tried the diffuser again but the co2 could not get through the ceramic piece on top. I ended up filing it down and now its not quite the height it used to be so the co2 just kinda bubbles up from one of the corners.
What I think happened was algae grew inside of whatever tiny holes are in the ceramic piece and then blocked any co2 from passing through.
I am not going to buy another one of these only cuz I think that will happen again, but the unit itself is not of bad build quality or anything so I can't give it a bad rating.
