PetSafe Collarless Ultrasonic Trainer
Works when other products failed.
Our problem was barking in the vehicle at joggers, dog walkers, drive ups. Some jumping. Worst is when we would get out we would get it right in the ear. It took only one time of the negative button and the results were instant and no sign of going back to that behavior. We have tried other devices in the past with poor results. Some picked up exterior noise, the vocal cord vibration did not seem to affect much. He is a blue heeler so could not be due to a thick ruff. We are so impressed we are moving on to another bad behavior soon, grabbing items from your hand.

Amazing Product, and perfect for first time dog owners!
I am a first time dog owner. No experience training them whatsoever. I got this product as a last ditch effort to try to regain control (and sanity) in my home. A one year old Blue Heeler is quite the handful.
My main issues are excessive barking when she gets upset at me (not moving fast enough to get her outside when she wants to go, etc), heeling/nipping/herding me to do what she wants, walking/running ahead of me, general listening issues in general.
Right out of the box all you need is a screwdriver (very small one) to open the battery compartment. Once the battery is in and you replace that cover, you're good to go. Absolutely easy as pie to do that, as well as to use the product. I press the N button when her bad behavior starts and hold it for less than a second. Her head cocks, her ears shoot up, and most times she comes running to me. That's something I'm not going to complain about. It did startle her the first few times I used it because she didn't understand what was going on. But as long as you don't use it directly next to the dog's ear it seems to be perfectly harmless and my pup definitely responds. Many times she will sit as soon as I hit the button if she is close enough to me.
I have begun to really emphasize my praise for her, even in the smallest things, now that I am using this product. Yes, there are times I use the P button for praise, but whether I do or not, I'm immediately going overboard with the, "What a good GIRL!!!" praises, kisses, hearty pats to the shoulders and chest, and scratches behind the ear. In the first fifteen minutes I had this thing, my dog's behavior improved dramatically, and she seemed so much happier each time she got it right. Perhaps maybe the tone to tell her that she did something wrong, as well as a tone and/or emphasized praise is what she needs to give her that assurance of what she's supposed to do/not do is what made it click for her more than just me giving her verbal praise or scolding.
Either way, I can't say enough about this product. As a testimony to its effectiveness, I misplaced it for two days time. It made me very nervous as this thing was really shaping and transforming my relationship with my baby girl. However, she is much calmer, listens alot more, and I don't always have to use the remote (now that I've found it again, haha) to get her to listen. She listens to my verbal commands so much more and is able to do things on her own now whereas before she had to follow me around no matter what I did. That always led to her getting into trouble.
I recommend this product to anyone and everyone. The only thing I will strongly recommend is that you not let a younger child use it. As it states in the manual, it is NOT a toy. In the wrong hands this could really do damage to the dog's hearing (if it's done too closely) or get the dog to be fearful, etc.

My two dogs are barkers. They just don't stop when someone pulls into the driveway or comes to the door. Now I let them have one or two warning barks. If they continue to carry on one press of the button and they stop. I had tried a shock collar in the past, but did not like the thought that I was hurting my dogs. This only gives a tone. They notice it and don't like it, but there is no cowering with fright. It just works!

My Schnauzer/Yorkie mix barks at animals on the television all the time; even animated animals, which has become very annoying. I ordered this device in hopes that it would be the cure to this annoying behavior.
WOW!!! - I couldn't be more impressed. As soon as I inserted the battery I pushed the "N" button to see what her response would be....she clearly did not like what she heard. Next, I tested her on a TV commercial that was full of animals; as soon as she let out a bark I pushed the "N" button. To my surprise and amazement, she sat very quietly watching the rest of the TV commercial without making another sound.
