Pinpoint Nitrate Monitor Nitrate Monitor
Great little monitor
I love this thing. You set the calibration and it holds it. I check it every so often with distilled water from the store and there has yet to be a problem. I have owned it for a little over 2 years I guess and its always been accurate. I think I may have calibrated it twice.
I like that this monitor doesnt have to be kept in solution when not in use like with ph probes. Keep in mind that Pin Point monitors are not water proof or resistant so keep water way.
I thought I was having a problem with the calibration at one time and costumer service was excellent. Foster and Smith couldnt help with the tech support so they got me in contact with Pin Point directly. I didnt have to search and hope I got the right person or company, they just gave me what I needed. Problem turn out to be the way I was testing (quick testing and only leaving it in the water for a short amount of time). Now if I am going to check the nitrates I just put the monitor in and leave it until later (normally like 10 or 15 min)
You wont be sorry.

The instrument will not keep a consistent reading or hold calibration at all. I will spend extensive time calibrating and it might hold for a day and then the readings go all over the place. I too have had difficulty working with the manufacturer. They are friendly, but really offer no solutions. I can't recommend this product. It is extremely expensive for the frequent problems generated.

Horible product , Not Consistant
Bought this unit in May 2012. nothing but trouble since. Manufacture tells me I dont use it enough to keep probe saturated, not true... Even if you use it the same day you get different readings 30 miutes apart, never consistant. Called them and have been trying to work with them for 6 monhts to get this correct and now tells me the older the probe the longer it will take to use due to probe getting older. It now takes over a hour if it will calibrate to be able to use this unit. Very poor quaility and buyer beware. Oh and if you have to send in there product for warranty they wont even cover the couple dollars freight to send it back to you.
