Color Max 50/50
The item I purchase is the color max version of this light, but when I used the 'write a review' from the email I was sent, it links me to the salt water version, or night time version.. whichever this coral life is for.
BUT I love these color max bulbs, they are the 'right light' for live plants and unless you want to spend a grand on light fixtures, these are fine for a small aquarium that has live plants.
Live plants are beneficial to your eco system in your aquarium. And your fish will love them too!
I recomend these lights as they are a great value, and do not allow the growth of algae given you have live plants to use up the nutrients before the algae can get going... but dont get me started on aquariums! Just take my word for it, use these bulbs! :)

Great!
I bought a 5.5 gallon tank with incandescent bulbs and was disappointed when I saw that the water looked yellowish and dirty. I purchased one of the 50/50 one and noticed immediate growth in my plants and I loved how clear it made the water look.
I found 20 watt ColorMax ones and put two on a ten gallon tank and I have to trim my plants back weekly because of how fast they're growing. I'm not a big fan of how pink the light is, but my plants like it, so I don't mind.
My only complaint is that one of the bulbs broke after six months by coming out of the base of the bulb. But I'm going to replace it with the same one because of how impressed I am with these.
Overall, these are amazing. I'd recommend these to anyone who has an incandescent hood. Definitely cheaper than buying a new hood for your tank and you can actually get more light than a regular florescent bulb.

great for fish only
i used the 50/50 and it works well for a fish only setup. it is not bight enough for corals however. you an get a higher wattage version that will work for mushroom's in something like a 10gallon tank.

Beautiful color
This bulb looks great in a small aquarium, but it is not as bright as I expected. I will however buy them again.
