Packed with living bacteria to cycle new cichlid aquariums
The secret to successfully keeping African Cichlids begins with Eco Complete African Cichlid Substrates. These mineralogically complete substrates contain aragonite to maintain the high pH African Cichlids need. Eco Complete Cichlid Substrates add calcium, magnesium, carbonate and more to recreate the African Rift Lake environment. Naturally buffers aquarium water to combat downward pH drift in African Cichlid tanks without the constant use of additives.
Eco Complete African Cichlid Substrates are packed with live, water-purifying bacteria to jumpstart the cycling process. Its high internal surface area allows more room for water purifying bacteria to thrive. Also packed in a water conditioner to remove chlorine/chloramines and reduce fish stress.
Eco-Complete Cichlid Sand features a finer grade ideal for aquariums with small cichlids and featherfins. Eco-Complete Cichlid Gravel has a coarser grade perfect for larger aquariums housing African Cichlids; use with or without an undergravel filter. Ivory Coast, NEW Zack Black and NEW White Sand, with medium-sized grain, add decorative contrast to your cichlid aquarium. 20 pound bags.
Please specify: Sand, White Sand, Zack Black, Gravel, or Ivory Coast.

For best results, use about one pound of Eco-Complete for every gallon of aquarium water. Do not rinse and add water in bag as it includes a water conditioning solution.
Determining how much substrate to buy for your new aquarium depends on the size and shape of your tank, as well as the depth of the substrate bed you wish to achieve. Another factor is the type of aquascaping structure you're planning.
The sheer number of factors required for plant growth and health may seem daunting at first; however, we can broadly classify these factors into three categories: substrates, pH/hardness, and supplements.
Some plants draw nutrients through their roots while others draw nutrients through
their leaves. Therefore, the two basic delivery methods of supplementing plant nutrients are substrate fertilization and liquid fertilization. Learn more here.
