I do not like ceramic bowls, but I have relatively tall dogs and prefer to use elevated feeders. I use the Bridgeport elevated wire stands. I simply put the boxed ceramic bowl that comes with the stand into the closet to donate to the SPCA next time I drop off a load of stuff, and order Foster and Smith 2 quart stainless steel bowls to use instead of the ceramic ones. They fit perfectly into the stands, they fit easily into the dishwasher (important when you have 3 dogs and 4 cats), and they nest so closely when stacked that at a glance it appears to be only one bowl. The oldest one I have (about 4 years) still looks good, although they get some wear scratching (from stirring food with a fork while mixing it I suspect), it's not enough to notice without looking for it. They are sturdy too, no denting.

These bowls are the perfect size when feeding dogs. We watch dogs in our home & want to be able to sanitize everything to keep our pups safe. Using Stainless steel allows us to do that!
