Nail Grinder Kit 4 5 1 1

Easy to use and gives good results I bought this nail grinder to trim my bird's nails after watching bird groomers use a similar device. This is a big money saver if you've ever paid someone to trim your birds nails. The grinding heads that came with it are really too big for small birds (mine are cockatiels) but would be fine for large birds and even dogs. I bought a smaller grinding stone at a hardware store that works fine and fits this grinder. That being said I really like the variable speeds and the ease of use. My birds don't seem to fuss as much as they did when I previously clipped them with a nail clipper. The nails don't splinter like they sometimes do with clippers and it is faster than clipping. Just make sure you secure your bird so they don't move while you're trimming. I gave it 4 stars because I had to buy the additional stone. August 28, 2012

I think this nail grinder would be perfect for small dogs. The heads that are included are probably perfect in size for that size dog.

Thank you for your question. The noise level of this grinder is going to depend on what speed you use it at. The variable speeds make it nice because if you have a pet that is bothered by noise, you can use a slower speed that is going to be quieter to keep your pet calmer. The video for the product does show it in use, which may be the best choice to judge for yourself if it is too loud for your pet. I have seen other groomers trim beaks with this but as I have not done this myself I can't honestly advise you how to proceed but only that I have seen others do it.
