Connected to a properly matched pond pump, pressure filters provide outstanding biomechanical filtration, removing particulate matter as well as toxic ammonia and nitrite. Water driven into the filter is cleaned as it passes through various filter media. Many pressure filters also include UV clarification, or the option to add UV.
Pressure filters are ideal stand-alone filters for small to medium koi/fish ponds. They also serve as great auxiliary filtration for larger ponds with a skimmer/waterfall filtration system already in place. Ease of installation makes them an ideal choice for a new or existing pond.
Because pressure filters are self-contained, they can sit on or partially in the ground adjacent to the pond and still efficiently return water to the pond. They also work efficiently above or below the pond water level. When connected to a water fountain, pressure filters return water to your pond with an aerating flourish.
